NCMH celebrates National Hospital Week
The National Center for Mental Health joins the rest of the hospitals in the
country in celebrating the National Hospital Week on August 6-12, 2005.

The National Hospital Week is observed nationwide every year to underline
the role of hospitals in nation building. Presidential Proclamation No. 181
s. 1993 issued by former President Ramos declared August 6-12 as the
National Hospital Week to coincide with birthday of Honorable Dr. Sixto
Orosa, considered as the founder of hospital system in the country. Prior to
this, the National Hospital Day was observed on May 12.
The theme of this year’s celebration is Ospital at Mamamayan
Magkabalikat sa Kalusugan ng Bayan. The aim of this year’s
celebration is to improve the quality of health care delivery by increasing
awareness of the special roles of hospitals as Centers of Wellness in
partnership with other stakeholders in the health sector.
Among the activities lined up for this year are:
Motorcade
Hataw
Mr. and Ms. Health Philippines 2005 pageant
Claim to Fame, A Variety Show featuring hospital directors, personnel of the
Department of Health and celebrities
In addition, each hospital has come up with their own program to observe the
event.
The National Center for Mental Health has scheduled the following
activities:
Open House – All Pavilions
Free Consultation Medical-Surgical Infirmary
Free selected laboratory procedures
Free dental check up, extraction and limited filling
Asthma Clinic
Chest Clinic
Seminar on Work Related Stress Management
