NURSING SERVICE

MISSION STATEMENT:

    The NCMH Nursing Service articulates its primary commitment of upgrading the quality of Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing practice by providing the best quality nursing care and treatment to all its clients - the individual, family and the group.  The Nursing Service Staff are prepared, guided and provided for their work within the context of prevailing local, social and cultural values and practices to achieve the desired quality of nursing care.

VISION:

    As a dynamic organization, the NCMH Nursing Service shall be the leader in line of Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing Practice and education and in partnership with other services, shall strive towards making NCMH a globally accepted Learning and Research Center for Mental Health.

OBJECTIVES:

To provide Quality Nursing Care.

To establish and maintain acceptable standards of nursing care.

To help promote and maintain mental health, prevent mental illness and manage             

           adjustment problems.

To provide opportunities for continuing education and training of nursing personnel.

To encourage, conduct and participate in nursing research and other related studies.

To provide related learning experiences to nursing students.

To promote cooperative relationships among all units of the service, with other departments  

         and the community.

 

To strengthen participation in community health and other activities.
