Meralco kicked off its Convergence Summit 2025 with a strong focus on employee well-being, opening the event with a session on mental health delivered by Atty. Jose Marie P. Iporac from the National Center for Mental Health – Public Health Unit (NCMH-PHU).

Held on July 30, 2025 at the Meralco Operating Center in Pasig City, the summit carried the theme “Mission Fortified for a Safe, Secure, and Resilient Future.” Around 240 employees attended onsite, with more participants joining virtually through a hybrid setup that featured plenary talks, concurrent sessions, a panel discussion, and an exhibit.

Atty. Iporac’s discussion, “Beyond the Desk: Understanding and Addressing Workplace Mental Health,” provided a brief overview of mental health in the workplace. He discussed stress, burnout, stress management techniques, and the importance of self-care highlighting how mental well-being directly influences productivity, teamwork, and overall workplace culture.

This successful collaboration marks the beginning of a deeper engagement between Meralco and the NCMH-PHU in advancing mental health awareness and support in the corporate setting.
